Swine Flu and the Edge of Evolution

On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin takes a look at the swine flu virus and what it tells us about evolution and how the limits of evolution help us combat dangerous viruses.
(In my view, the main limit of evolution is extinction. As individuals die, so also do species. That explains why your descendants will not evolve into tapeworms.)

Intelligent Design 101: State of the Debate

On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin announces the release of Intelligent Design 101: Leading Experts Explain the Key Issues, an anthology that tackles intelligent design from scientific, philosophical, and legal perspectives. Luskin shares from an insightful new essay by Phillip Johnson about the state of the debate over intelligent design and evolution.
(If all "evolution" meant was "change over time," I doubt any reasonable person would doubt it. Any older person can see how the animals and plants in a neighbourhood changed when trees matured - and then change again when they die. And how some offspring die and others live.
The key problem is the claim that Darwin's proposed mechanism - natural selection acting on random mutation - is the source of the massive information needed for intricate machinery in living cells. That is a fantastic notion, worthy of a cult.)
